There are Christmas markets you do not forget, because they are held where you least expect them. Every December, the garden of the Grand Hôtel & Kurhaus, at 2,000 metres of altitude, is dressed with wooden chalets and garlands to host its Christmas market. Immerse yourself in the magic of Christmas high in the mountains.

Chalets, artisans and treats

Beneath the stone pines, the wooden chalets house local artisans and their creations. You wander with a mulled wine in hand, bite into a waffle, and warm up by the fire. From one edition to the next, the market has grown with creative workshops, pony rides for the little ones, fireside storytelling and a visit from Father Christmas.

A setting at 2,000 metres

What sets this market apart is its setting: the snow, the peaks of the Val d’Hérens, and the historic hotel as a backdrop. Far from the crowds of the big cities, you find here a simple, magical Christmas, at a child’s height. The market is open to all, hotel guests and passing visitors alike.

Making the celebration last

For those who wish to stay, the hotel offers packages combining mountain-view nights, market access, waffles and mulled wine, and a Christmas brunch on 25 December. Enough to make the stay a moment out of time, just before the turn of the new year. For the dates and packages of the next edition, contact us at the reception.
