On foot
From Arolla or the Grand Hôtel, a marked mountain trail, about 30 to 40 minutes of walking. Ideal as a hiking destination or a stage towards the peaks of the Val d'Hérens.
Winter
On snowshoes
From Les Marmottes or the Grand Hôtel, about 30 minutes through the arolla forest. A winter walk accessible to all levels.

Accessible from the Arolla slopes. La Chotte makes an ideal mid-day ski break, at 2,166m, with a view over the peaks of the Haute Route.

How do you reach La Chotte in winter from the Grand Hôtel?
In winter, La Chotte is accessible by snowshoe or ski from Arolla. From the Grand Hôtel, allow approximately 30 minutes on snowshoes through the arolla forest. The hut is also accessible directly from the Arolla ski slopes, for a mid-day altitude break.
