See You Soon for the New Summer Season

The mountain awakens, the road reopens, the hotel is getting ready. A few weeks before the summer season, the invitation is open: come and live the slow summer of Arolla again.

The sunlit hotel terrace at the start of the summer season

Every year there is that suspended moment when the mountain changes season. The snow withdraws from the pastures, the Borgne swells with meltwater, and the Arolla road slowly reopens towards the top of the valley. At the Grand Hôtel & Kurhaus, this is the signal: summer is near, and with it the return of guests and the long days of light.

The mountain awakens

At 2,000 metres, spring arrives late and leaves quickly. In a few weeks the slopes turn green, the first flowers push through the melting snow, and the marmots come back out of their burrows. The valley passes from white to green before our eyes — a spectacle we never tire of, season after season.

The hotel gets ready

Meanwhile, the house awakens too. We open the shutters, bring out the terrace tables, and set the table of L’Honorine once again. The season announces itself with its share of new things — a renewed menu, rethought packages — without forsaking the timeless spirit that is the soul of the place.

An invitation to return

So here is our invitation: come and live the summer of Arolla again. The summer of the trails that leave from the garden, of e-bike outings to the high pastures, of evenings on the terrace facing Mont-Collon. Far from the crowds, close to nature — as always here, summer is lived slowly.

See you soon, then, for this summer in Arolla. The mountain will be ready, the terrace in the sun, and the table laid. Only you will be missing.
