Grand Hôtel & Kurhaus

The last village.
The first refuge.
1896.

Honorine Gaspoz completed the construction alone. In 1896, the Grand Hôtel & Kurhaus in Arolla opened its doors. It still stands, facing the same peaks.

And the valley that mass tourism never found, preserved, silent, at 2,070 metres above sea level in the Val d'Hérens.
